Perhaps you've gotten familar with War with their two releases and various compilation appearances on Posh Isolation. More Days was the first release that first got me hooked, then came God Made Flesh. Both of which containing an addicting serving of synthpop, darkwave, ambient, and industrial done in a lo-fi fashion. Now in a new year comes At War For Youth which originally was recorded on cassette and it's a short offering i cannot bare to ever forget. The first side is total synth dirge, while flip it over and the phenomenal Brodermordet shines brightly by itself, as its probably the noisiest dance song you'll get down too.

Heres a forgotten one, it's John Zewizz or simply Noizeclot with Music for Torture, Bondage & Leather Sex. Released in 1984, limited to 500 copies with 2-color covers, later copies available with a xerox'd cover on dark pink paper.

Croatian Amor - The Mars Quarter

Noise bliss from Denmark. Fairly new act i was hoping to hear more of since their contribution to the Maritime Trade compilation (Posh Isolation). Descripted as 'bubblegum industrial' with 'romantic overtones', i don't know how i feel about the bubblegum part but i would be very comfortable popping this in during a candle light dinner.

Yuzo Iwata - Drowning in the Sky

We now enter a new year on the blog with a very recent addiction. He is Yuzo Iwata and this amazing record seems to have been a collection of songs spanning from 1988 to 1994. Finally released in 1999, you will now experience what its like to drown in the sky. The album itself is all over the place, throughout the entire album it flirts heavily with psych-folk, and noise but we are also given quite the soft dreamy ambient touching here and there. The concluding title track gives me chills.

two new tracks from danish sensation Girlseeker. All around better than the previous tape and still staying with their overall sound which is much more fitting and louder as it shines throughout the record. probably the catchiest stuff i've heard all year.

This is another tape that went pretty fast [Edition of 40.] They are a danish group and members involved are Jonas Frederiksen of Dreamer's Cloth, Alexander Olsen of Sexdrome, and Simon Formann of Lower. You will fall in love with their cheesy 80s lo-fi pop sound.

Willing Feet - Willing Feet 7''

I could only count down the days until this nasty little seven inch would surface on the interweb. I've been spinning this destruction since it was released and due to my incredibly poor ripping abilitys there would be no way i wouid degrade one of my favourite releases this year. Willing Feet are a local band from here in Winnipeg and i've had the pleasure to see live many times. Two re-recorded songs you've heard from the demo and the sound is more menacing then ever. Right from the start you are whirled into the punk-y stomp of Deep With the Dead, and not much bands these days seem to be pulling off this style without coming off as tired and recycled.
